BIG NEWS!! Hey guys, just to let you know, its breaking news...THE ICE IS MELTING. So since the ice is melting and the earth is getting warmer i recommend we keep spending billions of dollars on space travel to look at new rocks orbiting the damn sun.A huge ice field broke off of Ellesmere Island 16 months ago. Since No one would think about being in that area no body knew. Recently, reviews of satallite imagery show the ice island the size of 11,000 football fields has broken free, drifted 50 km west and froze there for the winter. Now reports are coming back out saying how catastrophic it is and everything. One thing i don´t get is they say it will increase water levels worldwide. But doesn´t ice expand? Say you put ice cubes in a glass of water and they melt, the water leve is lower then when the ice was in there, correct? Maybe i´m half ass backwards, please correct me if i´m wrong.
I agree, it changes the face of the earth, the climate will be warmer once all the ice melts. But they are saying it will affect farmers crops because it won´t snow very much...but won´t the circulation of evaporated water cause it to rain more and produce greater crops? Since the ice will cause cooler waters they also say it will cause eastern US and Europe to be cooler because of the change of flow in water.
It is for sure bad that the mountain glaciers are dwindling. For example Lima, Peru has its only source of water from the Glacier and it has been receding 3-5 metres a year instead of 1 meter a year before the 90´s. Lima has a population of 10 million people. Where will they get there water from? Maybe its a good time to start investing in water purofication company´s.
I´m not saying it would be bad if the climate of the world was linear, and had the warmth of cancun year round. But i do miss the snow quite a bit now that i´ve been down here for 4 months.

so much of the ice is underwater and a lot of is is above water so if it melts the water level will rise
