Hey everyone,
Happy New Year to all. It's already almost a month gone in '10 or '010 or 210...however you want to say it. I'm having a good time down south here. It is kinda stormy lately though. All the water that the bay area needs for the rest of the year is supposed to come down between January and March, i think we almost got everything we need within the last week though. Everyone is worried about flooding and such, there is even commercials on the radio about preparing for floods. I'll be fine though in my area. Other than these 2 or 3 months of rain it is sunny 99% of the other days. I can only count on one hand the amount of days i saw clouds in the sky. As you can see in some of my mountain biking pictures the hills are full of vegetation around here, before the clouds can even come over the mountains from the ocean, the trees suck up all the water from them.
It was kind of neat this winter, now that i'm a bit more setup than last. I got to go mountain biking the weekend before xmas in 20 C weather, then a couple weekends later i went snowboarding. Unfortunately, so did millions of other people that live down here so the drive is a bit more frustrating than going to apex. It took 4.5 hours to get to Lake Tahoe and 6 hours on the way back. This spring I plan on checking out Yosemite. It is surprising how many people that live around here have never been to Lake Tahoe or Yosemite area and they've lived here for 10 years or so...actually, maybe it's not that surprising...crazy yuppies everywhere.
My plan as of last weekend and getting sick and tired of all these people and having to drive for hours to get anywhere that i want to be is, since i'm laid off as of april 30th, come back at the beginning of May. There are contingencies though. I'm applying for a different position within my company as a Technical Marketing Engineer, which would boost my career a huge amount if i can land it. Also, i'll be applying at a couple other small company's to see what happens such as Apple, Google and Cisco. Those would probably look half decent on my resume. If something else promising comes up as far as work time March hits i'll have to stay down here for a little bit longer until something pops up in Canada...it's like Mexico all over again. I just realized i've only really moved to places that start with the letter C, Calgary, Cancun and California...i think i might try a different letter next time if i can.
Hope all is well with everyone. I wouldn't mind trying to keep in touch with everyone a bit more. It definitely hits me pretty hard some days being so far away from everything I know.
I'll try to write more in my blog. If anyone is interested check it out at:

Hey an update! I knew there was a reason why i still check this thing once in a while :P
ya, thanks for checking dude. I reset the counter for the new year and i'll try to post once a week once again. hope you're keeping warm over there. Happy birthday for tomorrow, wish i could be there to celebrate with you.
Whoa...seeing an update on your blog almost knocked me off my chair..with cereal in hand. Technically though buddy, Calgary and Cancun are cities, California is a state. You already live in a city that doesn't start with the letter "C". Just sayin...=)
oh, and how about if you post once a week, I'll quit my bad habit. New deal?
Ugh!! Deal, posting once a week isn't that bad, besides my ability to come up with interesting ideas
C'mon, you can do it!
