It is the day after Halloween. I've heard several stories from friends partying last night and enjoyed listening to all of them. There were some good costumes and good times with them by the looks of the pictures on Facebook. Seems as though not to many people at the office party. It must be they are too smart to get drunk and stupid??
I don't think there is anything exciting to do in the area on a night like Halloween. It is either going to be dangerous to go or boring to go. This is why i stayed home and watched a movie instead. My lifestyle has officially changed from exciting and non-stop things to do, to the same ol every day. My day goes as follows: get up and go to work by about 10am. Work my ass off until Ali (my roommate) decides to go home, make something quick, eat leftovers, or stop somewhere to eat on the way home, then play video games, then watch a movie and go to sleep.
Anywhere else in the world i would have something to look forward to on the weekend. Here is a different story. No one really goes out to meet people. I've gone out in Vancouver and Calgary by myself and had no problem finding people to meet. Maybe there is some secret cool spot that i need to find. It isn't too bad though, i don't have much money to be going out and doing stuff anyway. It is difficult to do anything here.
There are so many paradox's here. For instance, you need to get a drivers liscense within 10 days of moving to California, but you need your SSN (social security number) in order to get it. The SSN takes a minimum of 11 days to get. Work wanted me to get my SSN asap in order for documents and payments to go through, but when i went to the SS admin office they told me to go away and wait until after 10 days to apply for it, then i could get it right away. Now because i listend to work and not the SS admin office i won't receive my SSN until after a month...maybe. So now work can pay me, i could get a bank account, but not a credit card, i can get a car and car insurance, but not a drivers liscense. This system is messed up.
It may sound like i'm complaining, but it is all just the initial curve of starting a new life. Everything is working out well so far, i haven't been without anything. Luckily my roommate, Ali, was looking for someone the week i moved here. So i pay $1000/month and get a ride to work and back because he works in the same department as me. Only problem is talking about work after work. That can't go on forever right? right???>>...
