My life has taken another turn. Since I'm not famous yet, I don't have any of my own quotes fit for the moment, but here is one that describes how things are.
"The greatest discovery of my generation is that man can alter his life simply by altering his attitude of mind." -- James Truslow Adams
Don't give me credit for sounding smart. I just looked on google for a quote on life, that is what it gave me. James Truslow Adams is credited for making up the term "American Dream." American Dream, California Dream, whatever you may call it...basically it is supposedly the ability for anyone, no matter was ethnic group or background, to gain money, respect, power, a new life of whatever you can thing of. This is supposed to be accomplished through skills, hard work and determination and this is the country where it is the most possible. By the way, that term was created just after the first world war. I'm thinking it doesn't apply anymore.
For me, this is a great opportunity to challenge myself, become an expert in an area still unknown to parts of the world and take a career path in whichever direction I choose. To let you as a reader know what I am doing would be hard to explain without first introducing basic technical ideas. Too put it bluntly and simple as possible, I create test cases based on features of products that the company sells to customers around the world. The testing is done through various simulations of network traffic. So my title is a Quality Assurance Engineer. Kind of like an assembly line of testers except we are in desks with multiple means of testing and the ability to suggest, discuss and argue certains functions of the product.
It is neat feeling like part of a community of individuals who are striving for the same dream. Whether it be small to begin with like finishing the project on time, to more large scale like being part of the number one company in the world for you
r market area. My personal goal while I'm done here happens to be the same here as it would be anywhere in the world. The american dream is over rated, too stressful, to pointless. What kind of motivation does money bring? More money? Ya, it would be nice to retire one day. My goal when i was graduating was to be retired when I was 25. It worked out half ass because the company I was with got aquired and i didn't have to work for a good chunk of the summer. So my new plan...35 I will retire. Laugh all you want.I will be writing here more consistently, for those looking to read a good blog this probably isn't it, i'm not an english major, poet, tech savvy reviewer or any other people that might write good blogs. This started when i moved to Cancun, Mexico because that is thought to be "paradise". After naming it that I realized you can call anywhere Paradise...Paradise is anywhere life is the most enjoyable. Whatever you want to make out of what cards are delt to you. So now on to the new Paradise in Silicon Valley, California. Go figure!
